This unique Florentine piazza is the center of the artisan quarter. Dominated by the last masterpiece of Brunelleschi, the Basilica of Santo Spirito, the square is home to little local markets and antique fairs.

We had this square recommended by someone who lived in Florence for 12 years, it didn't disappoint. Beautiful square, with quaint restaurants serving only local produce. We had lunch/dinner here 3 times in 4 days.

There are restaurants all around the square, but I'd try Osteria Santo Spirito. You'll need reservations to eat on the patio. The square also hosts vegetable vendors in the morning and a market on Saturday (double check...I had read Sunday, and it wasn't open at...More

Really nice place to hang out for a drink in the evening or a coffee. Plenty of nice small restaurants and bars. One of the preferred places of the locals. In the summer, when I visited, there are tables outside and everyone seats there. It's...More

This is a very nice piazza very similar to a lot others in downtown Florence. We had excellent meals in the corner restaurant just across the Church. On a Friday morning there was a nice little fair going on where a few people were selling...More

Stayed here some years ago and felt like locals with small bars and restaurants and local shops. We returned last week to revisit and it hadn't changed. Many small interesting shops and cafes. Many pavement bars and restaurants to choose from. Also a amarket in...More

nice place to chill in the park, drink and eat. Worth a visit on the other side of the Arno river (called Oltrarno).

This piazza is very nice and you can see that a lot of local people live here. There a fair number of restaurants with alfresco dining that it makes a nice place to eat dinner.

Santo is in the Renaissance heart of the more artisanal Florentine neighbourhood of Oltrarno just a hop and a skip from the main centre. Piazza Santo Spirito really comes to life starting in the evening with the ”movida” , filling up with both Florentine locals...More

Santo Spirito / San Frediano
A warm evening with a cocktail in your hand and great
company is the ideal way to experience Piazza Santo
Spirito; the area is busiest at sunset for happy hour.
Visitors cannot hide their astonishment sitting on the
staircase under the Basilica of Santo Spirito, and
they cannot help but stare at the architectural
masterpieces like Bianca Cappello House, Fontana dello
Sprone and San Frediano in Cestello and Santa Maria

Santa Spirito is not far from the main areas. At Santa Spirito you can find a good mix of locals and tourists. There are great restaurants over there. On certain days there is also a market. We loved the atmosphere there.
