I found this church fascinating. There is a relic of the Holy Cross on the alter, encased behind glass. You can walk right up on the alter and touch it. A very moving and spiritual experience. There are items, including a tunic, that belonged to...More

It’s amazing when you see buildings that seem almost untouched for hundreds of years. This is not a super large church by the standards we’ve seen on our trip but is definitely interesting. And having seen so many decorated ceilings the plain timber here is...More

We stayed right next to this church which looks quite insignificant from the outside. Inside it’s quite large and importantly has links with Francis of Assisi. It also has a case containing splinters from the cross of Christ.

Very interesting on the inside concerning saint Francis, as I viewed his tunic I thought how different from the wealthy modern religious leaders of today. Very nice and worth a stop as you head up to the top of the hill/city

The highlight of this small church is St. Francis's tunic, bible and pillow as well as the view. It would have been a much better experience if the info was in English as our Italian is primitive and it takes a lot of time to...More

This simple 13C church is a peaceful stop on the way up to Santa Margherita. It has some artifacts, a piece of the cross as well as San Francesco's tunic. Well worth a stop.
