An old roman wall with a small garden. Its off a side street on the main corso umberto but worth looking at if passing by. Nice to see the ancient beneath the new

The remains of an old Roman wall, built in the 1st century, are 130 meters long with eighteen niches. The name means “the seas battle”, but the basin was used just as a water supply for the city. It is an interesting example of famous...More

On the side street. It is interesting, that the old Roman structure was preserver so well, that three store of modern buildings were erected on it

This roman structure is limited in size and free to visit and only just off the main street- Corso Umberto. Worth a quick visit to get some peace and quiet away from the crowds of the main street.

You'll walk past this as you're going up and down the town. It's worth a look if your passing as its a good example of brilliant Roman construction, but don't go out of your way

It's now a peaceful garden down below more recent buildings. A nice getaway from the Taormina crowds!

Quite wacky to be seated next to a two thousand year old wall, but a pleasant area on a hot evening. The staff were charming and the food was excellent

Not far off the Corso, this is well worth finding, and makes a great dining spot at night (see Le Naumachie restaurant). Interesting architecture and a pleasant little garden.

The Naumachie is a bit of a misnomer, as this structure has nothing to do with mock naval battles. This 2,000 year old wall which is 122 metres long and 5 metres high with 18 large arched niches and 18 small rectangular niches, is actually...More
