Our hotel, The Baia Azzurra, was situated above the beach, and accessed by a path under the road and railway. Like many italian beaches cafes and hotels have their private areas on the beach. But they do offer easy access to ice creams, food and...More

A beautiful beach surrounded by rocks and clear blue waters. Many places to eat and drink. Can even take boat rides from here. Could sit here for hours at a time.

Mazzaro is the most beautiful beach in Sicily - the views are stunning, it's great for snorkelling, the restaurants are very good. A true gem!

We were here in January, so no crowds. Dropped down on the funivia from Taormina for a few hours to stroll the beach beside the clear water, climb among the ruins, and play with the cats. Imagine it is a crowded scene in summer.

Even in post season, the beach is a lovely place to enjoy the sun and the sea. It is the main beach of Taormina and usually overcrowded in summer, but in the autumn - it is a perfect spot!

A bit further from Isola Bella, but we liked it more. Quite in October, clean sand and water, nice views.

Down on the water, Cala Mazzaro is one blue-green spot, with transparent water, surrounded by a number of hotels. There is a free beach that can be reached through a flight of stairs from the SS114 road.

There is a small free area, where you can sit for free and use your own towels. There are 2 Beach Clubs, where you pay 10 Euros per day per person for a chair and parasol. Totally worth it.

Now the Grand Hotel Mazzarò Sea Palace is the best in Taormina. The best view, the best beach, the best food and the best rooms with balcony or private pool facing the sea. The restaurant is excellent. The best location in front of the funicular...More
