The Fountain of Diana in the Piazza Archimede gives excellent views down the Corso Matteotti to the harbour - this being full of exclusive shops. The fountain is very large with wonderful statues but unfortunately it was being renovated in June 2017 so there was...More

In Syracusa everything is in walking distance, it is a wonderful place. We were walking around during our day trip but it is easy to find. The city is really clean and beautiful although it is hard to take a picture from it without tourists...

To eat your breakfast - lovely italian coffee and a morning fresh flaky pastry watching the fountain - simply beaultiful - even if the water wasn't flowing due to renovations

It is in the middle of a square acting as a roundabout. The sculptures look OK until you get near them when you can see they are in a poor state of repair. Not memorable or a must-see.

We have enjoyed several evenings stopping at a bench near the fountain. The locals often come to walk their dogs or for a passegeta. The tourists come for cafes and shops open late. Fountain looks lovely lit up at night

This is with a look but not by sure whether tourist buses actually need to stop. It's impressive but not a Trevi.

The Fountain of Diana in Piazza Archimede is one of the main shopping areas on Ortigia. There are many shops offering locally made products, a supermarket and a fine selection of restaurants.

The fountain would be more impressive if it was located anywhere else. It was built in the early 1900's and it isn't nearly as impressive or beautiful as the many older, marble fountains located throughout Italy.

Watch out for the traffic........ The fountain is marvellous in many ways. Fabulous design, lots going on. Great for photography especially if you happen to have a wide angle lens and polarising filter about your person. The fountain really catches the imagination, and if the...More
