To visit Ortigia by bike is a great option too. We did an adorable ride along the seaside. The path is easy and flat and can be done with kids. The views are stunning ! There are small bridges overlooking the sea. The vegetation is abundant and we were lucky enough to ride along fige trees which spread an increadible... More

This is a nice simple there and back walk with good views to the sea with lots of wild flowers and some interesting art features. It also goes through some interesting former railway cuttings. You can wander off the path along the cliffs but the surface can be rough. It ends rather abruptly by an industrial area. There are no obvious... More

This little gem is easily overlooked amongst the myriad attractions of the ancient world surrounding Syracuse, but well worth seeking out. Only a short distance from the city centre this cliff top cycle/foot path abounds with plants, Birds, Butterflies and lizards - to say nothing of the stunning sea views and sculptures. Well worth persevering with the rather unprepossessing initial... More

Old railway line repurposed for cycling though you'll encounter more walkers and runners here. Surface is old asphalt or packed dirt, fine for most any bicycle as long as you can ride around a pothole or three.

I ran twice, and it's a great place to do it. I believe the hole track measures around 7km, and the experience is great. It's an old railway track that was converted into a a bikeway. The hole length is illuminated using the old train posts. The surface is a white compacted soil that is smooth enough to be fair... More

A shortish, but by Sicilian standards, quite well maintained track along the old railway. Pick your time to cycle carefully as it can get busy with walkers and dogs who are somewhat oblivious to cyclists. The usual problem with dog poo, so steer carefully! On a sunny day at the right time, it is a fine view of the coast... More

The pista ciclabile has been obtained using a part of the old railway track that connected Siracusa to Catania . It extends for 6,5 Km from Piazzale Cappuccini , where there is a huge Monument dedicated the dead of second world war , to Contrada Targia , just outside Siracusa on the northers side .The track is in quite good...
