A clever, modern building containing an easily-understood and very comprehensive collection of everything found in and around Syracuse from the Paleolithic to post-Roman. A hugely important, and accessible, reference resource. A vast array of exhibits is backed with explanatory videos and A0 panels, so you...More

I was dismayed at the level of ignorance of the negative reviews of the archeological park and museum. I was fascinated by both and thought the park was clean and beautiful, from a historical point of view it was outstanding, the audio tour was good. If...More

A lot of ancient ceramics. Most of them in fractures but it is a really nice museum. The greek of them are the most well kept and they look great! Combine with the park (greek teater, cave etc.) To save money.

Huge collection of very interesting objects, for instance there are a lot of well preserved objects more than 1000 years old. Restorations are well done. Great museum.

Amazing collection. So, a must-see. The sad part is the building and grounds, and to a degree the organization of the space. The place was clearly a showplace when it was built in 1988. And it looks lovely me they haven't put a dime into...More

Absolutely blown away by the huge numbers of exhibits, and the way they are arranged for viewing. Beautifully done, though I would have appreciated a few more descriptions in English (oh dear, a true British remark..). Personally I was most awestruck at the special exhibition...More

This is a great museum explaining so much wealth of history from this region. We only managed two sections, it was mindblowing. The ancient pre-history section and the Greek section were excellent. There is so much information to take in, and such a great range...More
