Piazza Archimede is one of the nicer Piazza’s. The Diana fountain lies in the middle but the surrounding elements are amazing.

Beautiful fountain and buildings. It is centrally located and a must to visit when in Ortigia. We were strolling around and gladly found this place. FREE to visit

The Piazza is in the center area of town. You have to walk up the street from the port. Many outdoor restaurants around and near here as well as gelato! Beautiful fountain

Not much to the actual square but the fountain is really well done. It is more recent than other structures and made out of cement. The statues are excellent.

We passed through this piazza several times each day during our visit. Pick a café and enjoy the view of the Fountain of Diana.

This is a lovely small square that is made special by the fountain at its centre. If you visit Syracuse you will almost inevitably come here so make sure you allow time to enjoy the experience.

It is befitting that one of the main squares of Ortigia, the old part of Syracuse, is named after Archimedes, a citizen of Syracuse and probably one of the most genial mathematicians that ever existed. Famous is his quote (maybe a legend): 'Don't disturb my circles', before he was killed by a Roman soldier.

The square today, the most important next to the Piazza del Duomo, is surrounded by several baroque palaces. In its center is the monumental Art Nouveau 'Fontana di Diana'.

This is the first pizza you come across when entering the island. Flanked by some nice buildings but the centrepiece is the fountain .

The square is fairly ordinary but lifted by the fountain at the centre. There are some clothes shops and limited parking.

Walking through Ortigia you arrive in this beautiful square dedicated to Archimedes characterized in the center by the fountain of the goddess of hunting Diana. The square is worth a stop and several photographs.
