Lovely building, a range of paintings and sculptures, they have a café and bookshop too, (but the bookshop is expensive). Entry is 7euro for adults to the main exhibits, any special exhibitions are charged separately at 7euro but you can get a 'combined ticket' for both at a slightly cheaper price. Sometimes there is restructuring so part of the gallery... More

Beautiful old building with an excellent and extensive collection of 19th- and 20th-century Sicilian art. Really nice place to spend a couple of hours. The Steve McCurry exhibit was great, but the permanent collection was even better.

The building is beautiful with courtyards and large staircases, high ceilings. Separate tickets to pay for the gallery and for the temporary exhibition. The exhibits were mostly 19th/20th century Sicilian/Palermitan art, and there was a temporary exhibition (until February 2017) of Steve McCurry's iconic photographs. We visited in November and it was quiet. Worth a visit.

When I visited the electricyty did not work properly so there was not much to see. Modern art? More than 1/3 of the works were created in the 19th century? The museum is situaded 300 m off via Roma

This museum is a great place to escape the heat while enjoying a beautiful artworks. According to Wikipedia Modern Art starts in 1860 until 1970 so if you expect to see "crazy stuff" you certainly will be disappointed. Instead you will see carefully crafted sculptures and paintings from the romantic era. Many of the art works are "realistic" portrays and... More

I now make it a regular thing when visiting smaller cities, to visit their modern art galleries. The big museums are always full of good stuff in Europe, but sometimes the smaller galleries are overlooked. This is no exception. I thought it would be a couple of rooms of paintings, but it is not. There are some notable sculptures and... More

If you're an amateur or a lover of 18th and 19th Century Art, this museum is a gem. The collection of paintings and sculptures from Sicilian and Palermitan artists extends on three floors, with detailed explanatory notes in Italian and English. The pieces are exceptional, both in breadth and scope, demonstrating the parallel evolutions of the art between the island... More

Regional Museums tell stories through art and sculpture of the local sights and history. This Modern Art Museum is an exceptional example of the best of Sicilian Modern and Contemporary artists. The collection translates the struggles, hopes, aspirations, and natural beauty of Sicily by artists who have walked the streets and know the island. It is why regional museums were... More

I had not planed to see this museum, but I saw an ad for it on the street and it looked interesting. Finding it was the hard part, but worth the effort. The art in this museum was "modern" in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The artists were mostly Sicilian. I was particularly impressed with some of the... More
