This city that was almost blasted off the map by navel guns in world war II, is stunning. The restoration over the decades since the 1950s has brought back the wonderful 16th and 17th century architecture. I can easily imagine spending a week exploring this...More

My wife and I hired Raffela online. She came to our hotel in one of Palermo's oldest neighborhoods. She took us to all of the usual sights, which were pretty terrific. Conversations with her got off to a comical start and continued all day. Her...More

The literature that I'd read said you either love Palermo or hate it. I was not terribly fond of it. I found it smothering, the traffic was chaotic and all I could smell was exhaust. The people were very nice, lots to see. We went...More

We left the ship and the representatives from different bus companies were there at the port. We picked this one. The ship docks so close to the city and bus stop is just 5 minutes on foot. It was a very nice tour, the sound...More

We left our ship and the city was right at the port. We noticed right off that the traffic and people mixed together in dangerous and chaotic harmony. Some on our ship turned around and got back on board right away not wanting to deal...More

On the day our cruise ship arrived at Palermo, the port was closed for the morning due to the rough sea, so we only had about 4 hours for the city; fortunately we didn’t book any trip; we just went ashore to check out a...More
