Worst meal of a 6 week trip. Ordered pasta bianca with salmon and was served chopped meat... there were TWO dishes with SAME name!! They were reluctant to correct so we let it go. Pizza was overpriced and tasted very cheap. Souvenirs looked like they were all 'made in China', lowest quality one might imagine. May be good place for... More

If you want a huge variety of food, spices, cheap clothes and accessories, this is definitely the right market for you. Our hosts told us more about the other 2 (vucchiara and capo). The first one is great at night time for its street food and the second one quieter and smaller than ballaro. If you want a mix of... More

You could almost find anything in this market: from souvenirs to fish; from wine to cheeses ! Prices are affordable. The best thing about it, is the authenticity of the people, their screams, their bids, their laughter and the fusion of colors :)

I was in Palermo for eight days, and for several of those days prepared my own meals with fresh, wonderful and very affordable ingredients I bought at this market. What was best too, is that it was only a few blocks from where I stayed. Perfect! The market has everything from seafoods of all sorts, to fresh vegetables and produce,... More

I loved it and went several times as it was not far from where we were staying. I bought eggs, tomatoes, olives, cheeses, butter. Enjoyed watching all the "action". We also took the walking food tour, and our guide brought us here so we learned where to get fabulous arrancina (sp?) and the best olives. It may make some people... More

People when u write that Vucchiria market or Capo are the best this is not true. The only unique experience we had after visiting the 3 of them was in Ballaro- close to Central station. Many stands with fresh seafood, meat, cheeses and of course fruits and vegetables but also spices and pasticeria. Prices are better than in other two.

A real itialian market where lots of people go shopping their meat, fish, vegetables, fruites and spices. It is very colorful and you ll see a lot of things. Small restaurants are located there and you can have fresh fish dishes or taste fresh fruits. Many residents eat their and prices are low to acceptable. Most of the market is... More

Loved this experience. Vendors signing out their prices, people grilling intestines, women arguing about prices. A rich mix of history, flavors, sights and sounds. I didn't buy anything but it was fun to people watch.

Nice palce to taste italian food. You can buy vegetables (even cooked or fried) or fruites, seafood or cheeses (ricotta is amazing). Everything looks great 👌
