This is the remains of an old church. It’s in a nice park with some urban green space. It’s most just there. Not a lot to see especially with so many whole churches around.

Large, secluded, abandoned, church, without roof, not far by piazza magione, now in summer setting for performances; for me despite being the falling ruin of what once was a magnificent one, preserve somwhat of magic and inspiring, it's well worth a little detour.

Beautiful church that was never completed. Good for a quick walk through or a sit in the outside garden but you won’t spend much time there.

This church, which was not completed due to the 16th century Ottoman raids, is now both an indoor and outdoor complex with trees that grow in the midst of its Gothic arches. Olivetan monks started holding outdoor performances, a wonderful tradition that carries on today: and our visit coincided with the Sol Luna film festival. The beautiful and haunting complex has long inspired art: Raphael was commissioned to create its altarpiece, Lo Spasimo di Sicilia, the sole survivor of a shipwreck and now on view at the Prado.

Built in the 1500’s it is another piece of ancient history in Sicily . We came upon it by chance and were amazed at the structure.

Built in 1503, this church is missing its ceiling, but that only seems to add to its loveliness. Slowly being restored after da age and service as both a hospital and a convent, you will be impressed by the flying buttresses along one side. The church also serves as a music school.
