This impressive sculpture of Neptune, the god of the sea, was not far from where we docked our ship. Not a lot to do in Messina the day we were there, but its a good launching spot to explore Sicily.

i walked from the port to see this but was disappointed as not working in fact no water and a bit tatty

Incredible piece. Just keep in mind, the statues are not the original ones. Those are found in the Museo Regionale, after they survived the earthquake

Our taxi driver stopped here and encouraged us to visit this fountain of 1557. I read about this before visiting.

Visited Messina and we went on the tour bus which went past this statue which down by the sea, Stunning.

This Carrara marble fountain is some 10 min walk from the main Duomo Sq., and is located by the sea. It's a beautiful fountain depicting Neptune, the God of Sea protecting Messina.
