I’m always apprehensive about eating at a touristy town square, but this time was not disappointed. Service was great and so was the food. This was lunch therefore we didn’t have much, but what we had we enjoyed tremendously. Glasses of Rose, followed by “Tomato soup, octopus and an interesting salad with oranges. “
Great place! I liked it!

In our search for a fresh local seafood meal we stumbled across this gem. There was no one there and it looked a bit sad and unloved.
We walked around a bit but in the end settled in this place based on the range of food options and the girl in the street doing the marketing.

We initially had a bit of trouble with English but after ordering we sat back with a lovely bottle of local Sicilian white wine.

We ordered a plate of mussels to share and a plate mixed fried fish.

When the mussels arrived we had a plate each, a minor trouble with the order in the translation. They offered to take it back but we kept it and enjoyed a plate each. We were glad we did, delicious with very generous serves with bread on the side. The fried fish were actually not on the order at all.

Based on the quality of the mussels we again ordered the fried fish to share. salty Whitebait, calamari and squid. All were delicious and tender.
My man followed with an expresso coffee and then washed this down with a local Messina beer.

The bill was really reasonable. Each dish was 10 euro and the wine 12 euro for the bottle.

We left happy and satiated.

If seafood is your go this is a must.

The Four fountains (only two of them are still placed here) were inspired by the Baroque splendor of the Kingdom of Sicily. Designed by Pietro Calcagni, the fountains are a beautiful memento to the marine and strategic position of the city.
