This beach on the Reserve came highly recommended. After driving for a few miles on a dodgy unpaved road, we parked and walked a few hundred meters to the beach. Spectacular! Only thing is that it is a nudist beach. Very few had their costumes...More

Very nice bird reserve and beach down narrow road with adequate parking in pield at end. 2 cafes provide food and drink. However there's a guy scamming tourists by pretending you've broken his door mirror on the narrow access road and asking for money. Suggest...More

We spent an afternoon here today. Bring your binoculars (!) as there are several bird hides. We saw stilts, spoonbills, linnets, egrets flamingoes. There is also a well preserved ruin from several hundred years ago of a tuna processing building. The wild flowers are superb...More

We went to Vendicari in early January when the weather in Sicily was terrible but the day we were at the reserve it was sunny and not too cold. The lack of car park at the entrance must cause problems. Also the unmarked wooden shed...More

Since so few people wrote about their winter visit experience, I want to let people know how stunning it is! The beach is quiet, the sun is warm, the birds (including pink flamingos) plentiful and the walking so nice! Our family of 4 stayed in...More

We visited the reserve in November so were not expecting to go swimming. Our purpose was to have a pleasant walk and try to spot some flamingos. We found the old tuna processing plant, long since deserted and enjoyed a pleasant walk along the footpath....More

We decided to drive there from Taormina to see the nature and watch some birds. But unfortunately there was nothing special to see. The nature is not impressive and there are really less birds especially no flamingos.

As you'll see there are vast areas of Sicily that are dry and arid with not to much plant life going on. Off course there are vineyards and olive groves. The Vendicari nature reserve is much more naturalistic. As well as being a quiet area...More

Great beach to get away from traffic, restaurant etc. There isn't anything here but if that is what you want then it is bliss.

This wonderful area is a highlight in Sicily. Spectacular beaches. Little infrastructure and tourism info.

We would love to visit the reserve but don't plan on renting a car. Could we get a taxi from noto? How much would this cost?

Sorry but I don't know the answer. We didn't rent any taxis at all on Sicily.
