The Bastions is being renovated. You can see the steps and walk around to the east side and ride an elevator to the top (free). Then head west through the portal to enjoy the view. Also stop for a cappuccino or beer at the cafe. However, the plaza is currently closed😥

It shows amazing views across midtown and the old town. One must walk up the stairs or use the side lifts to reach the main piazza with stunning city and sea views over Cagliari. It comes complete with further narrow streets, historic town towers and old town. Bars, restaurants and art galleries are everywhere with city views to die for,... More

Such a shame that most of this attraction is closed off for restoration work, otherwise I think this is well worth a visit.

Fabulous walk up the hill to this beautiful old church. Actually viewed a wedding whilst up there and it was fabulous. The views are outstanding over much of Cagliari and worth the effort.

You must visit the Bastion because from that visit you also see several of the other landmarks - the Torre d' Elefante, the Cathedral Santa Maria, San Pancrazio & fabulous views. Restoration work meant we had to find another entry point other than the front steps. There are also elevators to help you get around inside the Bastion.

The bastion is part of the old city walls of the Castello. It is now closed for renovation, but you can still see the grandeur of it. I hope it will open soon, so you can enjoy the whole building (and the elevator will work again).

The Bastion itself was closed for renovation, but we were able to see the architecture from below and the view from the top--and, very helpfully, there is an elevator connecting the two!

We got the bus to Castello and we're excited to see the historical part of the city. We must have walked for over an hour to get in as the Bastione San Remy was closed and none of the lift taking you from the street were open. There's is a lack of signage in the area and even with our... More

Looks quite amazing from the front and by happenstance we were at the top of the building the other day. But we didn't have a chance to access the building, it was closed at the time.
