You will find this cathedral in Piazza Palazzo and it is spectacular. Ornate ceilings, alters, paintings and statues. The outside is certainly not as beautiful as some of the others we have seen but it's architecture is superb. You certainly don't see this today in...More

An absolutely breathtaking cathedral. Unbelievable wall and ceiling paintings. Beautiful lighting. Every nook and cranny filled with eye watering alcoves displaying jaw dropping paintings, architecture and sculptures.

We were walking around the town and found our selves at the Cathedral. It was quite and beautiful inside. We also made it before a lot of tour groups.

Nice free church to visit when in the area. Remember to go down to the crypt to see the displays. Definitely worth a visit.

Very close to where we stayed so easily accessible. Interior clean and quiet. Take the trouble to go at night when it is floodlit

Save yourself at least €15 per person by getting a No: 8 municipal bus @ €1.30 from Via Roma to Viale Buoncamina from where you can walk back down through the Castella Old Town passing many ancient churches and buildings. Stop for realistically priced coffee...More

Lovely baroque church with a new Romanesque facade, added in the 1930s. The only snag is the crowds when cruise ships are in port. It’s not worth visiting then, unless you leave it till late in the day.
