Well worth a visit even on a crowded day. The ceilings and chapels are impressive and the crypt is a must. We just did not have enough time to take it all in. Allow time for this wonderful building.

this cathedral is a hard walk up hills - small but compact. Some lovely carvings. Some of the side chapels could have English translations - that would help

An amazing building with interesting history and relics . We visited as part of an organised walk which is well worth the cost . They can take you to the highest point then it's a nice walk down to the port

Worth a wander if you're passing by, impressive artwork, very peaceful, little crypt and candles to light too.

The cathedral's origins date to the thirteen century and it was built by architects from Pisa. The building has undergone many transformations and ideed only a few original elements, such as the side doors remain. Simply amazed.

Walking around when we came up to the Cattedrale di Santa Maria, we decided to go inside. We found it to be as nice and beautiful from the inside as it is outside. It was peaceful and very calming. Well worth a visit.

Wonderful cathedral, rather small inside. The crypt is quite impressive. Explanations in English, too.

In a magnificent spectacle of a cathedral, the real glory is waiting below the stairs. Under the altar - glimpsed at first through tiny dark windows - lurks a fabulous marble crypt. It is inspiring, cool in every sense, and so, so beautiful. Well worth...More

In the heart of Cagliari located in the ancient Castle area this church is a perl. In the basement you will find fantastic rooms nicely decorated in blue and turquoise. It is fantastic to go there also to escape from the heat outside during summertime....More

Gorgeous from the outside. Know ahead of time the hours. Though it was posted that there were no closing times, it was closed the time I arrived at 3 pm. Sad because there were people that came from all over Europe to see.

I have a similar question: How to get to Cagliari Cathedral from the cruise port? Is there a lift to go up to the Cagliari Cathedral? If yes, how to get to the lift from the cruise port? Or, if there is a bus going from the cruise port to Cagliari Cathedral? Or, if by taxi, what is the fair price from the cruise port to Cagliari Cathedral? Thanks.

Line 7 seems to connect the main boulevard with the old town, passing close to the cathedral. The Cathedral is situated in the centre of Cagliari, only a few hunderd metres from the boulevard. If you go up the Viale Regina... More

Is it walkable from the cruise port and if so what directions would I need? Maybe the bus number too. Thank you.
