Got robbrd by Pickpockets outside the front door. The well-practiced pickpockets, from an easily recognised ethnic group ( 2 young women, one holding a baby) approached us as we stepped out the front door of the cathedral. The most vile aspect was she knowingly and heartlessly used my sense of compassion as the means to get close enough to Rob my pockets of €150. I had given her some charity and she seemed to be thanking me profusely and offering a prayer for me in thanks. She was actually a loathsome person who smiled into my eyes while she stole from me. These people are so professional. Don't give them money. Don't let them near you. Don't allow them the chance to Rob you.

Do this early in trip. Paid €5 for museum and bell tower view. The museum bit is kinda dull and small, the church itself tho is nice but main attraction is view from top of bell tower.

Tucked away in the old town of Alghero the Cathedral is well worth a visit. Not massive, or overly impressive, but pay the 3 Euros to go up the tower for an amazing view of the city. There was also a guide up there who gave us lots of interesting information about what we were looking at and some of the Catalan history. The stairs are very narrow, steep and winding though, so take care. You also need to watch out you don't walk straight into a massive bell when you get to the top. I would have fancied being up there with the bells going - what a noise that would have been, but the timing didn't really work out that way. We were up there just as the sun was setting which was perfect!

Worth a visit but don't worry if you miss it. It is quite dark inside and there are better churched to see,

Went there 15 May to pray on my birthday and I saw that in the evening was the festival of the mediterranean, Le Donne di Puccini, Duo Pianistic Aurelio e Paolo Police, fantastic piano concert, very emotional but perfect evening.

If you are passing by go inside and visit it. I like it inside. Raw decor but I like it. Not to much gold and other rich things I don't like in continental churches.

Large solid building, but nothing exciting. It was closed on both occasions we passed by, so we never saw the inside. We always check out all the churches in a city we visit, as we find the architecture interesting.

Although from the outside it doesn't look much (in a true Spanish style), interior of the Cathedral is magnificent, especially the altar, all in white marble and gold.

Smaller than most, it was still a pleasant 20 minutes spent walking around the cathedral. Restoration work was taking place when we visited, so we couldn’t access certain areas.
Also it is free to enter.

We went in as we passed the chattedrale on our way to the hotel. Considering the plain outside, the inside is unexpected huge and different to cathedrals in Northern Europe. The main 'eye catchers ' are not gold but marble. Defiantly worth a visit.
