Piazza del Ferrarese is a nice place. There are several restaurants to chose from. It is located near to the sea and nice to walk around.
We really enjoyed walking in here!

Square wich takes its name from a merchant, Stefano Fabri, from Ferrara, who sold his wares here during the 17th century, its is the continuation of the Mercantile Square .In the center of the square, near the back of the church, you can see the remains of the ancient Roman road Appia Traiana.

Visited Piazza del Ferrarese during the evening and during the day and on both occasions found many people walking or seating in the different restaurants and coffee shops.
Part of the old road built by the Romans is well identified with respective explanations.

One of the numerous squares where you stroll for through the narrow streets of Bari. Several narrow roads end on this, so difficult to miss!

Very interesting tourist attraction, lots of little bars and ice cream parlours too. Walls to sit on too, be aware of pickpockets here especially solo or women in couples without men.

Seafood, ice cream, various other sweets, burgers, soccer watching on game nights. You name it, they've got it there. So animated during the weekend, looking deserted on weekdays, it is really a nice place to spend time in.

A pretty large piazza where you can find a lot of touristy restaurants, if you are into that kind of experience.

Piazza Ferrarese has always been one of the access points to the old town which, with its narrow streets, alleys and small openings, extends from Piazza Ferrarese - Piazza Mercantile up to the Normanno -Svevo castle.
During recent restoration, which involved not only the square but also the surrounding buildings, a short stretch of the ancient Via Appia – Traiana came to light, built by the Romans in the early second century A.D.
Nowadays the square is filled with very busy bars and restaurants and, together with Piazza Mercantile, has become a must for those enjoying Bari’s nightlife. Charming and romantic evening views of the brightly lit seafront can be enjoyed from the square and the access ramp to Via Venezia.
It is the perfect place to hold concerts, artistic performances and especially the majestic illuminations that accompany the festival which honours of the patron saint of Bari, San Nicola.

Piazza Del Ferrarese seems to be the central area for the centre of Bari, it is close to the sea, and behind are all the main streets, that lead to all the attractions of Old Bari. It is packed with restaurants, and a lot of local bars and cafes. pity I did not venture to go into these tiny bars to meet the locals. Could relax around this Piazza for hours weather permitting.
