Fantastic section on Roman artefacts

Not worth paying separate admission; feel free to wander in if you bought the Vicenza museum card. (It is next to the Church of Santa Corona; also on the museum card.) The archeological stuff didn't really stand out. Seeing old carvings, etc. just doesn't mean as much when you've been seeing 500 year old stonework all day. (I can't tell... More

As Vicenza is a fairly small city we were not expecting to see much depth to the museum. Oh, boy, how wrong. The natural museum was a bit sad with lots of stuffed animals, but interesting. The archeological section was amazing. Some 6000 year old bowls or Roman statues, beautifully carved, and you can get up really close too. The... More

My husband and I visited this Museo because it was part of the Museo Pass. Now this is an awful thing to say..because I'm engaged in Italian Speaking Class currently because I Love this country so much. In this Museo Italian was the only language that was spoken. We had no idea what you were looking at . Disappointed at... More

Unfortunately very little in terms of Roman era works are shown. This small museum is a work in progress and can easily be skipped

Since the Museum of Natural History and Archaeology was included in the Vicenza's Museum Card, which we had purchased for €15, we decided to visit it. The Natural History section includes information and items about the geological background of the region, as well as of its flora and fauna. Most of the information is in Italian only and that section... More

The best part are the artifacts from ancient Roman collections: mosaics, statues, and tombstones, located on the ground floor and in the beautiful coutyard. The upper floors, dedicated to geology, zoology, and botany I did not find as interesting and the spaces are quite stuffy. They host an outdoor film festival in the summer which is a fun community event.
