Gorgeous estate

Must see if in Vicenza - there is an entrance fee but it's small and worth it. Beautiful place to take pictures and just enjoy looking at the surroundings.

We followed the website instructions regarding parking, and then walked up to the Villa, only to find everyone else just parked on the street in front of it. The grounds are not particularly interesting and are rather small; the view of the house from walking around it is no different than the view you can get from the street below... More

We visited both the exterior and interior of this Palladian villa on a sunny day. On a hillside outside of Vicenza the location is a perfect setting for this stunning villa which was the inspiration for so many great homes in Britain as well as some in the United States. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and the interior of... More

The architect (Palladio) appearently inspired a lot of the buildings of the new american federation. It's all about geometrical forms, with no functionality. The famous "Don Giovanni" movie with Ruggiere Raimondi was filmed here. The parc is rather small. There's a nice walk from La Rotonda back to Vicenza over a cobblestone footpath over the hill (with a nice view... More

Representative example of Palladio's design. It is very nice to see the original villa that inspired so many buildings around the UK. The interior is frescoed, adding to the beauty of the villa.

Visit this extraordinary, still privately owned, Palladian villa by Vicenze on a Saturday (only) and admire the magnificent, exuberant frescoes on the duomo, and the totally innovative design, the only one of its' kind. The most important site amongst all Palladian villas, which must have inspired architecte Le Vau 100 years later, in France.

Palladio's masterpiece...la Rotunda was the inspiration and model for Thomas Jefferson's Monticello. A perfect example of beauty and artitecture. Located on the strada coming town from the autostrata Venezia-Verona.

This is a must see building and a fine example of Palladio's work. It is within walking distance of the city centre and has lovely views over the countryside from the garden.

This is the masterpiece that the architect, Andrea Palladio, failed to see it in its finished state as he died in 1580, five years before construction was completed in 1585 under Vincenzo Scamozzi following Palladio’s death at the age of 71. Palladio was influenced by Roman and Greek Architecture and is widely regarded as being the most influential individual in... More
