The Basilica Palladiana is a Renaissance building in the central Piazza dei Signori in Vicenza. It’s another Palladio wonder. The architecture is amazing. Enjoy a coffee or gelato in the Piazza and marvel then go inside and take a walk to the upper balconies and...More

Among the dozens magnificent buildings strewn all over Vicenza by the Renaissance star architect Andrea Palladio, the Basilica is certainly the most stunning, with its loggias and marble statues. The adjacent Bissara tower (over 80 metres high) and the two St. Mark columns frame the...More

If you need a single reason to visit Vicenza, this is it. Entering the square the perfection of the Palladian building is breathtaking. We also wer lucky to be able to visit the very interesting Van Gogh exhibit inside.

Van Gogh exhibition to reccomend! Crowdy, but good organization makes it less disturbing. There is a lot of history about the life of artist Van Gogh, it stimulates you to read more about him.

This was the second time I visited this stunning palace for an exhibition and again I was amazed by how wellkept it is. They do not build them like this anymore.

I visited Vicenza on a day trip from Venice on Friday, December 8 of this year. That day I understand is a big national holiday, so that was probably the root of my problem. Any major tourist site in Italy was probably insanely crowded that...More

This building express the art of Palladio and the city where he created the most of his works. You can walk inside on different floors on wide galleries. When we were there this building was hosting an interesting exhibition of Van Gogh.
