This church sits atop a much older church, which is still in use. That one, however, sits above ruins of a church from the 5th century! The ruins can be seen through glass-covered holes in the floor of the downstairs church. The big church up...More

Substantial renovation work inhibit the views both internally and externally at present. However, there are still important works visible. Accessible with the 4-church pass for €5 (reduced). San Fermo Maggiore is close to Ponte Navi on the eastern side of the old town. The banded...More

This is the oldest church in Verona, and was very beautiful, however the Church is undergoing significant internal renovation works at present which hinders the opportunity to see much of its beauty. The audio guide (inclusive with ticket price) was incredibly interesting, and really focused...More

We purchased a ticket which gained you entrance into 4 churches. Perhaps because we visited this one last, but if you can only visit a couple make sure you go to the Duomo and Anastasia. Right now the main church here is under renovation.

My favorite church in Verona. It would be worth the visit just for the frescoes in the upper church. When you descend into the older church it's amazing and more older frescoes. We spent ages wandering around in here.

Beautiful beamed ceiling, frescoes and very peaceful. It is worth looking for the "Roman" church, down the stairs, into an arcade, and through a glass door. Then, quite miraculously, here is the other church, quite beautiful in its simplicity, underneath.
