It's not just a castle, it's a great exhibition about history. Take time to visit the castle. Great view from the walls and bridge.

This castle from the Middle Ages was restored and repurposed to be a museum holding the some of the artistic treasures of Verona. There are pre- and early Renaissance Christian paintings and sculptures. There are works by Lippi, Bellini, Giambono, Morone, Vivarini, Carpaccio,Montagna, and others. There is a famous statue of the smiling Cangrande (Big Dog) of the ruling family.... More

Unique castle heritage will a beautiful museum inside. Even for non Christians neither Catholics, the exhibition of paintings is very well done and the paintings are very nice and educational. It shows so many meaningful stories of the Bible and western cultures. Even our children were interested but of course we needed to spend time with them and did our... More

Prepared for several hours, we still managed to linger enough to find 'a missing painting' from a fictional book I have been reading. Extensive Roman and Mediaeval period artefacts, militaria and works of art, substantially religious subjects. The castle itself is an interesting element of Scaliger history. Works too numerous to mention but recommend this for almost anyone. Impressive work... More

The museum buildings are outstanding, a castle beside the river Abide. But most of the museum was closed due to a staff meeting this evening. That happens, and hopefully it was a good meeting. Those left behind, particularly the chap at the counter, were outstandingly rude and simply could not care less. Don't quite know how to put this in... More

Not only it is a massive and interesting building to visit, it has a very nice collection of art (paintings and sculpture and armor). One of the highlights was the walk around the castle walls and the view of the river

This castle is suitable for families with babies and teenagers as well since it is enough space to move and it gives your kids a vast impression about the years 1200-1300. You can come in big and small groups as well. Today I was with my 3 person family and behind us was a group of 30. The picture on... More

Museum is so nice. So much art. A lot Of the crucification. Madonna and child. You can get all the way to the top of the inside of the castle for a spectacular view of the river and bridge. Very nice.
