The Cannaregio area is busy but seemed less hectic than the area around St. Mark's Square. There was a good selection of restaurants and plenty of souvenir shops, The prices were much better than Murano!

I bought my Murano clown and my sister's earings and necklace here. Very happy with both items. Genuine Murano glass and affordable prices. (Note to the editors: I see that people are actually reviewing Venice itself under this shop. Please amend.)

I decided to look for this place after reading a review about it. After having 1 incredibly bad experience at one of the factories on Murano, I was quite wary and reticent about parting with my money (see my other review). I decided I wanted...More

Absolutely magical place. No need to set up your camera shot, every turn is a photo shoot. Breathtakingly beautiful. The water is turquoise just like the Canaletto paintings. It wasn't as expensive as I'd expected. Wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
