This small island is a bit off the usual Venetian path, but it’s worth seeing. Its Santa Maria Assunta church houses impressive mosaics, its bell tower offers great surrounding views—and it’s home to Locanda Cipriani, a well-regarded restaurant and hotel that played host to writing legend Ernest Hemingway .

Apparently this is very nice in the busy summer months. We were there on a drizzly day so it wasn't at its best.

Visited Torcello as part of a Murano, Burano and Torcello Tour. Had about 45 minutes to tour Torcello, which has a few houses, a park, an interesting small church, a museum (which was closed when we visited) and a few small restaurants. Much preferred Burano...More

The most beautiful island of the Laguna, with great landscapes and small family restaurants. Very glad that we did the tour to get there. Really gorgeous.

We toured three islands in one day, Burano, Murano and Torcello. We had lunch at a beautiful restaurant in Torcello on an extremely hot day. A welcome break from all the crowds in the main City.

Torcello is one of those places that has seen its best days. You have the feeling that it was once magnificent but is now kind of forgotten. The main attraction is the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, which is so historic. There is a small...More

Water bus number 12 usually runs from Fodemante Nove (Venice) to burano murano and torcello, each island is worth visiting.
