We spent the day in Murano and Burano (didn't make it to Torcello). Murano was great as we watched artisans blow glass and browsed the shops and showrooms. While we enjoyed Murano, Burano is not to be missed. The quaint, picturesque pallet of colors on...More

Visiting Murano and Burano were fantastic! Viewing a master create a glass sculpture was amazing! And the colorful homes in Burano were out of this world!

Our Hotel was right on the lagoon. A boat stop at our door. A view of the lagoon with snow capped mountains in the background. Absolutely fantastic. Easy transportation to the islands of Murano and Burano - both must see destinations.

We took the Vaporetto to St. Mark's Square that ended in the Lagoon. We also took a gondola ride that ventured briefly into the lagoon. It is a flurry of activity. But the best view was at night as our cruise ship sailed out of...More

Crossed the lagoon on a boat to get to Venice and it really is the best way to do it. Lovely views on the way in as the anticipation of going to Venice rises.

I think the master glass blowing demonstration in one of the factory on the island of Murano is free. But you need to check the time when demonstration is given to the public.
