Campo Stefano has cafes, church restaurants Nicolo Tommaseo statue and the meeting place of tours. Stop by at a cafe and have an ice cream.

Over Academia Bridge leads to a quieter part of Venice, wider streets, plenty bars and street cafes with outside seating aplenty. Area well worth a visit if only to miss the throngs of people .

We try to stay in Santo Stefano...yes there are tourists (like us) but locals, children, dogs all moving and living their lives...a superb leather store, stationary store, two excellent bars, a gelateria...the Academia Bridge there too...
