You can take the #2 Vaporetto from San Marco across the lagoon and to the first stop. Get the best view of all of Venice from the lagoon by taking the lift to the top of belltower for a few euro. Lovely grounds to stroll...More

take the time to visit this island, church and tower. The tower entrance is through the church and reached by a short elevator ride, worth the minimal charge.

We enjoyed some of the Biennale installations here, but the main reason to visit is to go to the top of the bell tower for views of Venice, the Giudecca, and other islands.
