Me and my boyfriend went to Venice in February 2017 during the Carnaval (and my Birthday ;)). For me, it was my first time in Venice and I really wished to make a tour with the SUP. Searching in the net, I immediately found Eliana's site and we contacted her. She has been so incredibly kind from the first contact... More

This review is way overdue but since it was such an amazing experience here I am writing about it many months later. To begin with Eliana is a great communicator, she made it very easy to ask questions and plan the excursion. Great directions to the quiet side of Venice with less trafficked canals to paddle board through. Not only... More

This was the best experience we had in Italy! We had a wonderful two-hour SUP tour of the canals of Venice with Gaia, and my only regret is that we didn't book a full day. Gaia is so friendly and knowledgeable. We loved exploring a quieter, more residential side of Venice, and we felt that we really got a much... More

We had a one-hour tour of the Cannaregio canals with Eliana, our incredible guide, on the first week of September. This was such a unique way to see the city, looking up at the elegant buildings from the canals. Eliana chatted with us about Venetian history and present-day culture while guiding us through waterways, under bridges, and even briefly out... More

From start to finish this experience has been amazing! Eliana is extremely helpful, very responsive to any queries I had. Eliana is also a very positive, kind person - she made every second of the tour fun and factual! The area where the tour takes place is very quite and beautiful, no huge crowds, and there are some beautiful restaurants... More

Enjoyed my two-hour tour along the canals of Venice with Eliana. During the tour she shared some history about Venice and information on the canals. The tour was safe and at a leisurely pace. This was such a unique perspective and view of Venice. I highly recommend this for anyone who enjoys SUP and seeing a city in a different... More

Eliana was amazing. Since you need to be 14 to rent a sup in Venice (per Italian law), Eliana went above and beyond to craft a custom tour for us. I had a SUP and my kiddo had the "learn to paddle a gondola" tour run by the Venice rowing club (next door to the SUP location) My kiddo and... More

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
