Most pics of Venice show this beautiful church. I think the exterior is as beautiful as the inside. Worth the walk over the Accademia Bridge and 10 minute walk to the Church.

Approaching from the narrow back streets of Dorsoduro or coming down the Grand Canal to St Mark's, this great church hits you with baroque magnificence. Interesting to think of the annual ceremony down the centuries to build a makeshift bridge across the Grand Canal here...More

Visible from St Mark's square across the Grand Canal at the end of the Dorsoduro, the church is beautiful from the outside and is dedicated to yet another rescue of the Venetians from plague after petitions to the Virgin Mary. Apparently there is a festival...More

This Church is a striking landmark from the exterior guarding the entrance to the Grand Canal. Inside it is quite simple and restful. There is not a lot to see but it is pretty stunning all the same.

This church is rather bland. Some statuary, but little notable art. Rather grey and concrete-like inside.

Intersting church opposite St. Mark's Square. The area is quieter and quite smart with jewellery and art studios.

Last visit we didn't cross the water to visit Salute, but on this occasion we did. A wonderful gem to walk in and around something quite different and circular with many alcoves. We were so glad we took the time!

Beautiful white mini-cathedral across the Grand canal from St. Mark's Square. Definitely worth the trip over. Two things to be aware of: 1. Access across the canal is best by Water-bus. It's a quick next stop trip (note: 7 euro each way or included with...More

Dominating the narrow tip of land that forms the end of the Dorsoduro, the massive baroque masterpiece of the Salute Church is something to behold, its a sober and beautiful counterpoint to the excitements of San Marco Inside, artwork and short recitals in the late...More
