To the side of the square is the fantastic 15th century clock tower, with the symbol of Venice, the winged Lion. The clock itself is astrological, and it chimes by 2 figures ringing the bell with their hammers.

After the basilica the most memorable building. Pictures of the Venice lion and the bell hamerers require a telephoto lens.

Join the crowds watching... it is well worth seeing the clock strike. Check the dial carefully to see what is being represented! A really good view of the clock tower can be obtained from the balcony on St Mark's.

You see the tower as soon as you emerge into the sunny St Mark square. It is impressive for sure. Inside is nice tour.

Very interesting building with a lot of details that can transmit the idea of measuring time not only using the clock.
