The basilica itself was beautiful but rather than charging an entrance fee they charged individually for everything within which didn't seem to make sense. The view from the top was nice though.

The queue is always long to see this major attraction. Best to visit just one hour before closing time.

The doors open at 9.45am and the queue that had formed (about 200 metres) moved very quickly (15 minutes) . Once inside it was beautiful, just as you would expect.

Yes, a small bag/purse is allowed but bag packs have to be checked at the cloak room for free. The instructions are displayed at the entry, u can't miss it.
