Neighbourhood: San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

This is a small and rather cramped an utterly unimpressive square.
The only positive thing in the square is the lovely church.

This small square take its name from the church of San Salvatore . In this square , in medieval time, there was a deep well used to water the horses.

This very small campo located in front of the eponymous church contains many interesting items; Marforio’s dragon, the 1848 commemorative column and the cannonball in the church façade.

This small, intimate square, surrounded by clothing stores, is home to Chiesa di San Salvador and the 1848 Commemorative column. The unique thing of this campo is the sculpture of Marforio’s dragon holding its 3 umbrellas. This sculpture is all that remains of the famous leather shop Marforio. Good for a photo opportunity

When passing through this campo look up to see the sculpture on the corner of a dragon holding a red and blue umbrella. It is unusual and a good photo opportunity.

This small busy Campo located a short distance from Ponte di Rialto is home to numerous shops and Chiesa di San Salvador. Besides the shops, there is also, a small column and an interesting sculpture holding a red and blue globe.

Campo San Salvador is Beautiful, Bustling small Campo near Rialto.

It has a unique little Church, San Salvador, that has a hole in the floor through which you can see chambers below.

There are paintings by Titian and Bellini there.
