The so called Latin Quarter feels a bit newish. It exists in its present form since 2006. The architect Paolo Portoghesi envisaged the new redeveloped area to be servicing a modern audience of university students and afilliated groups as well as tourists. However, the area seems to attract few people. Perhaps the neoclassical style structures look nice, but the area lacks a soul. I walked through several times, but did not stay on and continued to find a more 'authentic' less sterile ambiance.

The Quartiere Latino of Treviso is a nice area to walk, close to the river Sile. This area is linked to the University of Treviso, which goes back to the 13th Century. It is a good starting point to explore the canals of Treviso, I Buranelli. Cafes and restaurants are of course present in Quartiere Latino.

The City of Treviso is a hidden jewel, the old hospital has been completly renovated and the old Roman Canal in the South side is realy worth a visit, mentioned in Dante Alighieri's Divine comedy the River Sile washes slowly past the University,at Night it's a Photographer's dream.

Very nice, safe but lively area. High quality clothing stores and good food (restaurants, coffee shop, ice-cream shop), plus a pharmacy and a travel agency.

Inside the walls of Treviso Centrale you will find this quaint square. It's beautiful in light coloured stone. Popular with the younger 20s crowd and offers gelato, shopping and a few eateries. Not far from the university
