A fish market has occupied a river island in Treviso, a small town north of Venice, since 1841. The setting had become decrepit and there was talk of demolition, but the commune decided on renewal. Architect Toni Follina gently reshaped the island in a form...More

We visiting Treviso in the evening, the fish market is already closed, but we seen the stalls fish market there, and pretty clean. With river surrounding the trees changing colors, autumn is here, make the place so lovely.

A handful of vendors selling various kinds of seafood and whole fish, nothing spectacular but there are many bars and cafes in the area.

Visit this fish market to see how the locals live! The fish is so fresh some of it is still alive. 12 or more stalls with every possible Mediterranean sea-dweller. If you are renting an apartment in Treviso, you siply must shop here!

A nice, pleasant walk around it. Nice bars and restaurants around. It is nothing fantastic but very pretty. An old mill can be found at one of its ends.

This is a lovely walk to take along the waterside. You can visit the market which sets up in the mornings and stop for coffee and pop into some local shops or local art dealers who set up in a small piazza along the way.

We went at about 11am on Saturday. There were about five stalls selling fish. It's just a local fish market and has an interesting 'island' setting with canals all around it. If you want to buy fish, then it's worth going in, otherwise I wouldn't...More
