Was a bit surprised to discover huge art collection in otherwise nondescript Padova. This museum is at par with Galleria del Accademia/Uffizi and stocks brilliant collection of Giotto and Donatello masterpieces. There is also nice archeological museum nearby. It is close to train station so...More

The artefacts and there presentation from the surrounding area show the importance of Padova. But it would be helpful for the tourists who don't speak Italian to have a trranslation if even into English. Otherwise faultless.

What a brilliant surprise to find out that the art gallery was huge. Some brilliant works of art throughout but make sure you ask the staff for the best way to view the works on show. Wished I got the audio guide now but never...More

We found this a hard place to find as we thought it was where tickets to the Scrovegni Chapel were sold and the signs advising its presence were obscured. We went for the art and some of it was very interesting. Particularly interesting was a...More

We went to Padua to see Giotto's paintings in the chapel next door to the museum. The collections in the museum were really good, and all those working at the museum that we interacted with were extremely helpful and polite. Tintoretto's paintings were among the...More

The day I visited the Scrovegni Chapel happened to be very cold and rainy. Given the weather, I explored the Civic Museum after the chapel. Entry was automatically combined with the chapel ticket, after all. While few artworks compare to Giotto's frescoes, my time at...More

The Scrovegni Chapel ticket gets you into the Civic Museum as well, and it is well worth your time while you are there. Giotto's crucifix is worth the visit by itself, and there is a lot (a whole lot!) of other items on display.

My wife and I browsed the extensive holdings for two hours after we saw Giotto's Chapel. Much sculpture and painting. Some pieces are excellent. One of the better ways to spend a rainy afternoon. Covered by the Padova Card.

We went to this museum complex after visiting the Scrovegni. While the archeological part was a little disappointing, the Art Museum was surprisingly good and extensive, with lots of paintings by notable Veneto artists. If it were in the US, it would be a major...More

The Museo Civico di Padova (Musei Civici agli Eremitani) adjoins the Scrovegni Chapel and entrance is on the same ticket. If your visit here is adjacent to your visit to the chapel you will already have handed in any bags (even handbags) at the cloakroom....More
