It's really really huge and you feel overwhelmed when you step in. It's really nice decorated, all the walls and all it's interior. There are St. Anthony's relics inside, and his tomb. Many cultural styles are combined, and it's a lot to take in, but it's worth it.

This is a truly original building, which is a compendium of many styles which, almost, come together in a pleasant way. It is a huge building with some of the architecture resembling the orient, even more than San Marco square. It is worthwhile walking around the square to have a different perspective. Inside there are great masterpieces by Donatello and... More

The Basilica of St. Anthony is huge and ornate, so a trip here is rewarding. As the shrine for the saint, however, it has a lot of spiritual significance, too. I was very impressed by his elaborate Renaissance tomb, and even more overwhelmed by the reliquary chapel. There are museums at the Basilica of St. Anthony (entry fee), as well... More

This is a place of pilgrimage. What I know is that he was a Franciscan. You can go and pray for the singles so they can find a match. The architecture and relics are amazing. They have a store of natural remedies like homeopathy, which are made in monasteries.

It was a evening and already dark when we came but we we saw it, we were stunned. So I can imagine how it looks in a daylight. It is a gorgeous church inside too.

Ever since I was little, my grandmother always told me to pray to St. Anthony, because he would protect me and keep me safe. When I finally had the opportunity to visit Italy, this was a must-see; it is indeed, a fantastic building. The famous statue of St. Anthony is right near the entrance, thus its hard to miss, but... More than a praying and an historic place, it’s the tomb of the Antonio di Padova catholic Saint, which makes this place unique for those who understand the importance of it. Besides, it’s quite impressive the eclectic mixture of the painting styles preserved during all the harsh times of the Christian Church. The oldest style paintings, in the rooms nearby... More
