Aosta old town surprised us, everything is so beautiful, the houses, the shops, the restaurants everywhere , the roman arch, and the amazing view of the mountains You can relax and eat a good pasta and enjoy the people walking through the old city and enjoy...More
The Roman ruins are awe-inspiring, and the city itself is delightful. We stopped at a bakery and ended up conversing with the owner and her husband, who owns the shop next door. Both were so genuinely friendly. That feeling permeated our visit. We especially enjoyed...More
"Romans put it there, and it still stands!" - that was my husband exclaiming as he saw the ancient Roman Arc. There is a very real feel of the ancient history here, and it doesn't look being that far away in Aosta.

Hello, as there’re were four of us with lots of luggage we got a taxi. Do not remember seeing a bus, however worth googling to check. From my recollection, I think the taxi took about 15-20 minutes and that was only to the outer area as the taxi could not drive in to the pedestrian cobblestone streets. It’s such a lovely place and worthwhile staying a couple of days, if not overnight. Enjoy your travels 😄
