Renon's new cable car opened on May 23, 2009, offering a whole bunch of fantastic advantages for vacationers and local commuters alike: a generous schedule, short travel time and easy access. It's a true gem. It only takes 12 minutes for the gondolas to move from Bozen/Bolzano to Oberbozen/Soprabolzano - they depart every 4 minutes, so there's practically no waiting time.

So easy to get to from Bolzano train station. Wonderful views from gondola and beautiful villages up on the mountains. What's even better is the fact that both funivia and train up on the mountains are covered by Mobilcard, so it all makes it very,...More

It is very close to the railway station. A smooth ride up the hills with a spectacular view of the city and the mountains. Continue your trip with the tram to the earth pyramids.

Good way to get to Renon avoiding the long and at times busy and twisting road..Takes you right to the railway station at top of cable car.

Definitly worth a visit which goes up and up and up and one can enjoy a huge astonishing wide view of the city and landscapes beneath which eventually stops you to a small poshy town.

The long cable-car ride with excellent views, followed by the little train trip to Colbalno, is a very enjoyable experience. We then had an interesting and worthwhile walk through pleasant countryside to the nearby earth pyramids.

It's been a couple of years since I've been on it, going to Suprabolzano, but was as comfortable as it gets. It very crowded. There was an attendant at the bottom that helped with our ticket. This time we rented a Vespa and zig zagged...More

From Bolzano train station turn right and walk for about 7 minutes and you will see the Funivia Renon cable car station in front (glass building). I believe it is operates all year round. Check their website for prices.
