A must do!

One of the passes which is a must do on a motorcycle. Lots of hairpin bends, stunning views and a great ride. The only negative was the cycle race which made it extremely busy.

The Swiss postbus from Tirano in Italy to Müstair in Switzerland is a great way to see the Stelvio and Unbrail passes by public transport. The bus leaves from Tirano bus station which is reached by underpass from the Italian train station. The bus stops at the Stilfserjoch/Stelvio Pass summit for 30 minutes. The journey is hair-raising but a great... More

Decided to cycle the 48 hairpins with wife and son. Worth every agonising pedal stroke. First section in the trees is fine mainly because you can't see what is ahead. Emerging from the trees with 7ks to go and all you can see is the climb ahead. Save it for a fine day and pause at the top for a... More

We were going from Lake Como to Val Gardena and our GPS decided that this was the road to choose. In hindsight I'm glad it that. It's funny because you're asked by it whether you really want to use a ferry or a non-asphalt road, but it gladly send you up to 2757 m (9000+ feet) without any further due.... More

It's everything you read and more. It's never that hard, but 24.5km and 48 switchback of climbing sort of wear you down. Another bucket list ticked off!

Perhaps the most exciting alpine road we've ever been on and we're from Colorado! Motorcyclists, bicyclists and rally drivers know and revere this route well. We found it only by chance. No, our BMW was at home, but Karl drove our rent car and I read the Garmin like a rally navigator. Exhilarating! We loved it; the route is the... More

A biker's dream come true! The most amazing road!! A must for a true biker!!! The scenery is from what you only see in tv documentaries and think you will never see anything like it. The balance between the roads, small villages and nature is amazing. The the great atmosphere the bikers bring to the place. Priceless!

Rode this pass from the North last June with three mates. We started early in the morning in order to avoid heavy traffic and the cyclists who do this punishing ascent. I was on a Yamaha FJR1300 and it was a sheer delight to ride this 'Queen of passes'. Road surface is a bit 'iffy' in places, though better on... More

Vertigo cycles motorcycles some "boy racer" drivers makes this an experience not to be missed but not necessarily repeated. Once in a lifetime - as was driving around the Arc de Triumph in Paris. A cable car still takes you above the snow line where people were still skiing at the end of July!

If you have motorbike, car or bike, this is the road you must drive in your life. It is a wonderfull feeling every minute, evey meter of this spectacular road. I have started on Suisse side and drive over Umbrail Pass and then to Passo dello Stelvio and to Merano. Top Road!!!
