Another example of something which is simply splendid and why I appreciate Italians, who are the masters of creating beauty. Heard there were some controveries and something existed before but it is not on me to judge, this Galleria to me is a spectacle. Another reason why I keep coming back to it (visited it with my friends back in 2022), is that Dario Argento made there Profondo Rosso (Deep Red).

It is a large, covered complex of buildings in the city center with the typical commercial premises - expensive shops, cafeterias/gelaterias and the iconic "Cinema Lux" at the entrance of which the three branches of the gallery meet. The art deco adornments have remained intact since the gallery was built in the 30's of the 20th century, originally meant to accommodate the head office of the "La Stampa" newspaper.

The scene of one of the famous chases in The Italian Job, 50 years on is a wonderful surrounding for good coffee, choice desserts and even Pale Ale. Most of all, it’s a great feast for the eyes.

It is sort of similar to the Grand Galleria in Milan & the less Grand one in Naples but on a much lower key.
Worth a look as it also has the fancy architecture etc.

A building of times gone past with art deco finishes and the location of the Lux cinema. Nice to visit to appreciate the architecture

The usual shops in a clean environment with a large courtyard where children can ride electric driven stuffed animals.
Clean toilets and the building gives a good impression of the old factory.

If your in Turin you must visit Galleria San Federico. The building is stunning and is like a small version of the Galleria in Milan. Once your in this area of town just wonder around the neighboring streets taking in all the little shops and food joints. This is what Italy is all about.

Visited here about 10 a.m, all the down and outs were sleeping in shop doorways!. Lively ceilings, and a nice Coop, but that's it.

Our favourite spot for an aperitif as classy art deco surroundings and good choice of drinks and snacks. Perfect place to sip your drink, soak in the atmosphere and listen to the excellent buskers and people watch.

Located parallel to via Roma, in its segment between the pizazas S.Carlo and Castello, it was originally created as a high-end commercial center in the early 30's of the past century. It still remains, shiny and beautiful as then and still hosts some very nice shops and a movie theater. Cannot miss.
