A grand building in a spectacular location. Not very old and teeming with tourists on the Sunday afternoon we visited. Worth the trip for the view but perhaps not on a Sunday!

We enjoyed taking the cogwheel short train ride up the hill to see the Superga. We ate lunch in their cafe & explored the area. Beautiful!

The Sassi-Superga train was fun, the views of Turin and surroundings amazing. The Basilica looks quite knackered and could do with a slight makeover... We did enjoy ourselves, but go for the journey and view.

I am presently writing from the US: every time I have been there, I have either driven or taken the train. So my experience with buses is not direct. There is however a bus (no. 79) that goes from the Sassi train station to... More
