The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Modern building from the thirties of the last century in contrast with the palaces
overlooking the same square built in the first years of the same century.
The round part overlooking the square is deliberately in contrast with the other buildings but in harmony with the apse of the nearby church

On Piazza Meda, there are two mentionable attractions. One of them the round glass building of the Edificio per uffici, and the other one is the shiny stylized sole, called la Ruora Solare, by sculptor Arnaldo Pomodoro. The golden weel stand in the middle of the square, cheering up the whole place with its vivid, bright color.

in Meda Square there is a very popular masterpiece made by Arnaldo Pomodoro: la Ruora Solare (solar wheel). ts singular charm: the contrast between the metallic glow and the green of the grass, in a play of volumes, colors and geometries, refers to an idea of beauty appreciated everywhere.
In sculpture, every form is brought back to the essential. Sphere, cube, cylinder, and other solids repeated in row, hidden inside massive containers, such as globes, columns, cubes and disks partially visible by gashes that break smooth surfaces.
The image that follows has stimulated the imagination of those who wanted to see the work of gears belonging to mysterious machinery or, even, a rapid succession of musical notes.

In a city where most squares look the same, this piazza is very unique. This is because it combines different architectural styles in buildings which surrounds it, and in a quite a good way.

In the middle of the city on this small piazza, there are buildings from different style - from the 70.th, and from 1930 years. There is a nice modern sculpture too.

A small piazza near the Duomo where a few streeets merge. In the piazza is a large sculpture (modern) of an artist named Pomodoro from 1980. It fit the Piazza and frankly was nice to see something modern there versus many of the antiquities over 500 years older near by.

This is just a decent little square, which could've been so boring, hadn't it been for a stunning golden disc, located in a small garden in its center.
Great photo-op of the disc and surroundings, but otherwise it's just another square.
