The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

Dont give up trying to get tickets!
This is my second time visiting the last supper and it still blows me away like seeing it the first time. We booked to go Milan two weeks before we flew. It came as a surprise to me that getting tickets to see the Last Supper are like gold dust!! I was almost convinced the only way to see the Last Supper was to join a tour for an exorbitant fee but I'm so glad I persevered on the website - checking everyday really does help - I was able to secure two tickets on the date I wanted 5 days before my trip. So don't give up!

Magnificent piece of art by a master artist
My wife and I planned our wedding anniversary trip this past summer to go through Milan on our itinerary. On our previous trip to Milan I was not able to get entry tickets to Leonardo da Vinci’s The Last Supper because I waited too late to reserve tickets. This time I booked tickets the first day they became available which was 90 days before the date of the tour. You only get 15 minutes to view the masterpiece and the group is limited to 35 people. It was well worth it. It was a spiritual experience to see it. I took a great number of photos to save all aspects of age fresco for later reflection. This was one of the highlights of our trip and is not to be missed if you are ever in Milan. Just be sure to prepare for it by reserving your tickets.

    Totally worth it
This was absolutely stunning. We almost didn’t get tickets and I had booked (with free cancellation) ones that were over inflated with a tour company but I also kept checking the website and others were released. We were able to do it on our one night back in Milan before we flew home which was great! We were able to take photos which was good too. I was worried after seeing the Giotto fresco in Padua that this wouldn’t be as impressive but I was wrong.

    Last supper
I managed to secure tickets after watching the proper website for 2 weeks and so glad I did. We went Easter Saturday which made it moving. It’s very impressive. Group of 25 allowed in for 15 mins. You are then ushered out when this time is up. No videos allowed to be taken only photos and no flash. Lots of people got turned away.

    Let it be...
The mural of The Last Supper (Il Cenacolo) by Leonardo da Vinci, as well as the painting by Giovanni Donato Montorlano - Crucifixion, were available for viewing in the convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie in Milan. Whether or not you are religious or a believer, there should be ample reason to appreciate these superb works of art. If you cannot relate in some way, do not go and afterwards berate the experience! Be advised that advance reservations really are a must. Our tickets were personalized (by full name) and assigned a timed entry and departure. Our small group was allowed to enter the sealed room and had to depart when directed. You should live in the moment, take your pictures, and do not dally, linger or dwadle. We personally are not at all religious but appreciated the impact which The Last Supper painting, da Vinci and just the work's existence has had on our world...so let it be.

Great experience, to be seen with a guide.
I was able to get a last minute ticket only for me. Luckily my wife saw before so not getting a ticket for her was not that big of an issue (even though it would have been great for her). Our guide (Maurizio) was just amazing! He knew his Leonardo and he explained various elements of the painting in detail, including how to view it. He also took some time to explain the life of Leonardo and compared his style with Michelangelo and explained the details of the adjoining church. Absolute must see with a guide!

    Absolutely Worth The Effort
I admit, it took determination to figure out how to book our tickets but man oh man, it was worth it! Seeing “The Last Supper” was emotionally overwhelming. This was an incredible experience neither my husband or I will ever forget. The church, too, is stunning. Simple. Stunningly beautiful.

A Must if You are In Milan
I luckily happened to check the official website in March and saw that tickets were going on sale in a few days for slots in June, when we were planning to be in Milan. I got up before 4:00am PDT because tickets were being made available for purchase online at noon Milan-time. I was able to get 4 tickets for my family, and it was totally worth it. Our guide, Paola, was amazing. She was so knowledgable and obviously passionate about the fresco and made the whole story of its creation and history really come alive. My family are not particularly interested in art, but you could tell that she held everyone's attention.

    Know Before You Go
First, book your tickets the moment you know you're going to Milan. There are a variety of ways to get tickets; the cheaper tickets go first. Closer to time if you are able to get tickets they will be very expensive. We ended up booking through "Get Your Guide"; our guide was Marcella and she was excellent. As other reviewers have mentioned, you'll only have about 15 minutes in with the "Last Supper". The rest of the time you're getting a tour of the church and/or general background information. You will be able to take non-flash photos. No videos. And know that they will check ID to be sure that the name on the ticket is the same as the name on the ID! In our group there was a woman who had been given her ticket by someone who decided not to go. They wouldn't let her use the ticket unless she was able to almost instantly get the person named on the ticket to almost instantly send them an email under his name, naming her as being allowed to use her ticket. This literally had to be done in like three minutes or less. Personally I was underwhelmed with the Last Supper but that wasn't the fault of the tour guide or anything like that. It's just that, well, I found it underwhelming. I'm glad I went so that I can say I've been but frankly it I had to choose between The Last Supper and the Cathedral or the Monumental Cemetery I would choose one of those first. Don't underestimate the Monumental Cemetery.

Since the online booking I was not impressed with the warning saying something like "if you come less than 15 minutes before your booking appointment you will not be allowed to enter and you will loose your booking without refund". We arrive well in advance just for waiting to go into the ticket office and queuing to get the proper ticket (but why didn't allow us to print it once we booked online??) Once inside we when inside the only room to see, a room that you cannot visit for more than 15-20 minutes as the staff will invite you to leave. No tour guide present like when I went in 2009, no explanation about the painting. The light were very poor, the painting itself is very well consumed and despite I consider Leonardo da Vinci the biggest genius in our history, I was thinking why this wall painting was so incredibly famous and why we had to pay €15 for looking only at one painting while the other museums in the world for the same price, or maybe some extra euros, offer the tour that you can enjoy hundred of masterpieces and incredible objects from any age.
At the exit, we were left stuck in a small pre-exit room with all the 30 partecipants for several minutes, a real assembly situation, not good in this period of pandemic. I asked the staff to let me out but they didn't, I was so disappointed by this. Never never never again. For me: money wasted for a very disorganized museum

This was our third time to Milan, and the first time we were able to commune with this masterpiece by da Vinci. We actually booked a tour as ticket purchases are so hard to coordinate with a travel itinerary as they sell out immediately. While the tour seemed expensive, it was quite worthwhile as our guide Alexandra was able to make every minute of the 15 minutes that guests are allowed in the chapel be a memorable experience. And the rest of her three hour walking history tour was every bit as rich in Milanese history. Plus now, we won't have to return to Milan which is an absolutely horrible pedestrian city!

One of the greatest works of art of Western civilization by Leonardo da Vinci. To enter you must buy tickets in advance (at least two or three days), and the visit itself is only 15 minutes. The mural has been restored many times, and the copy from which these restorations were made is in the Pinacoteca Ambrosiana.

After wanting to see the Last Supper painting for 15 years, I finally made it!! Booked tickets 2 months in advance from the official website and had a guide that gave the tour in English (although it should have been in Italian, she had more English speaking tourists). You only get 15 minutes in front of the painting, but it was everything I had hope it to be and more. The glass screen is no longer there, so you feel closer to Jesus and the disciples.
Our guide Laura Ferrara was knowledgable and it was easy to listen to her and immerse myself in the painting at the same time.
Take time too to look at Giovanni Donato's The Crucifixion, as it is much overlooked, but truly amazing.

We purchased our tickets about 2 months in advance, as they sell out and are not available at short notice. We had an English speaking tour guide. Be sure to check when you book, as some tours are in Italian and some in English. There were about 25 people in our group. They were very efficient in moving us through the different parts of the tour, as there is a limited time to spend in the actual hall with the painting. We were able to spend about 15 minutes viewing the painting. It was worthwhile seeing such a famous painting in person, and we learned a lot from our tour guide about the initial painting process, damage during the war, and the restoration projects that have taken place over the years.

You will need to pre book this visit and we acquired a joint ticket with the Brera Gallery through Italy Museums. You are instructed to arrive half an hour before your ticket time and you go to the ticket office to pick up your ticket (you will be asked for identity documents). You then wait for admission time. Once inside there is a small museum and you will be admitted to the refectory (where the painting is to be found) at the time indicated on your ticket through a series of airlocks. Our group was fairly small and we spent 15 minutes with the painting and were able to view this at our leisure. Highly recommended.

An amazing moment you must experience to admire the masterpiece of Leonardo. The venue is gorgeous and contribute to create a holy calm space to honor the art and the story of the paint. You will discover how it was miraculously saved after the bombs dropped by the British to liberate Italy in the Second World War. You must book very much in advance the tickets!!!

I was able to check one item off my bucket list! I can't describe the feeling of seeing the masterpiece in person.

I took one star off only because they make it really difficult for individual visitors to purchase tickets. I had to visit their webiste almost for an entire month everyday searching for tickets. When I visited the site, I realized why. Tour companies snatched all the tickets charging a ridiculous amount of money for a 15 minutes of viewing. I and 3 other people were the only ones there without tour guide during my visit. I realized that this is the case with many top attractions in Italy. Really disgusting if you think about it.

Perseverance pays off. If you know the date you want to visit, keep checking the official website for when your day becomes available. Tickets are €15. You don’t have to pay a third party an exorbitant price. But reserved tickets are a must. We visited September 20. The ticket office said they’re completely booked through the end of October.

That said, seeing the masterpiece was so much more than I expected. Breathtaking. You are guided through the hall to see the painting and our guide, although wonderful and passionate, spent the entire 15 minutes in front of the painting speaking Italian. Once we left the room she explained the finer points again in English. Would have been nice to be standing in front of the painting.
