This is quite far off the beaten track but armed with our 24 travel passes we headed over here. It was a shame that the permanent exhibition was closed for a private function but the Igloo display didn’t disappoint. Well worth the journey & the...More

I visited recently to check out the Seven Heavenly Places exhibition – it was MIND BLOWING! You have to go and see it to understand. The exhibition is located about 30 mins cycle from the centre of Milan, but easy to get to from metro....More

10 minute walk from nearest subway. Impressive space. The Kiefer installation is permanent and huge and worth seeing on its own. The rest of the space is for temporary exhibitions. Nice restaurant.

Free admission which was a plus, however if the museum charged I doubt I would have paid for this. Some people may love this museum however as it's to a certain taste. Unfortunately not mine. Very spacious inside and unlike any other art museum I've...More

If you are a fan of Anselm Kiefer and contemporary art more broadly, and you are going to Milan, do try to visit the HangarBicocca. I saw two shows there, the permanent, breathtaking installation of Kiefer's 'The Seven Heavenly Palaces' and a fascinating re-installation of...More

What a fabulous space for art! Worth the effort to get out there - metro to Sesto Mirelli then a short walk. The permanent Anselm Kieffer installation is breathtaking, and when we visited the main space had a series of astonishing Lucio Fontana installations. Highly...More

It’s hard to describe how ambitious and remarkable this exhibition space is. The Anselm Kiefer installation is awe-inspiring. The restaurant is really good, and on Sunday there is a brunch buffet that’s enormous.

It is really worth making the effort to visit the Pirelli Hangar. The location and the surroundings themselves are worth visiting. Exhibition with different 'light rooms' was something we had never seen before. Each room, which are actually containers within the hangar, has a different...More

We were thrilled to discover this great art space. Unusually for something in Europe, it was free entry. Worth paying for though! The permanent Anslem Kiefer installation is quite extraordinary. The industrial building spaces are great areas to show off the art and add a...More

Although Bicocca is a peripheral district, many
visitors will find it appealing. The district is
enveloped by the immense Parco Nord (North Park), one
of the largest parks in Europe. Inside is the theater
Arcimboldi, one of the most important contemporary
theaters where concerts and shows are organized. In
the same area, there is the University of Milan
Bicocca, whose distinct architecture rivals a movie
