One of the strongest installations and works of art depicting our current time. A place of silence, monumental and at the same time so small. What Louise Bourgeois did with her "I do, I undo and I redo" for the Unilever series in Tate Modern to depict the individual journey, Kiefer does here for the societal journey and reality we... So we are not art buffs and my teenagers seem perennially cynical and prone to being bored... And this was a lot of fun. You cannot fail to be impressed by the scale and bravado of some exhibits and the modern art was satisfyingly bewildering! I told my boys that this was the same field of endeavour that the last... The visit to Pirelli Hangar Bicocca was one of the highlights of my visit to Milano. The Anselm Kiefer's installation is impactant and monumental, and I can think only about the Turbin hall at the Tate modern in London to compare with. Seven huge concrete towers standing in the hangar + Kiefer's huge paintings on the walls around make a... More

This ex-hangar is so big and spacious that you'll think you've entered in another world. The temporary exhibitions it houses are always as beautiful as interesting and often free. The only downside is that it isn't the easiest place to reach as it is far from the metro station. If you have some time to spare I absolutely recommend the... More

Visited to see the Anselm Kiefer. Worth the trip to Milan! Incredibly moving piece, even more so in the current troubled times. Huge spaces set back from a wild grass garden entrance. The Seven Heavenly Palaces needs to be seen first hand, photos will never do it justice. You get the feeling that any one of the towers could topple... More

Although it is a long way from the center of Milan, (over 25 euro taxi )Do not miss this chance -everything here is of interest BUT the things that must be seen is the permanent installation of Anselm Keifer called "THE SEVEN HEAVENLY PALACES" consisting of 7 cement towers that rise 46 to 60 feet into the air and the...
