The pulsating core of Milan is in Centro. Duomo Square is enclosed by the gothic cathedral, the historic icon of Milan. However, shopping is what draws most crowds to this area. The classy and versatile Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II with luxury boutiques and high quality restaurants will turn any shopping or lunch expedition into a royal experience. Head to the rooftop of the flagship La Rinascente to enjoy the view of the animated square with a panorama of the Duomo. The Corso Vittorio Emanuele II is the street for high-end shopping. Brands of all kinds and street artists attract the attention of all visitors; while at Via Santa Radegonda 16, Luini Panzerotti is a much appreciated street food shop providing unimaginable culinary experiences. If shopping takes its toll on you, consider visiting Castello Sforzesco, a 15th century castle housing several museums. Those looking to relax can go to Parco Sempione, where nature provides respite from the energy of this dynamic and international city.

One of the most famous Milan' s attractions. Try not to miss it. If you can book your ticket for an opera in advance (a couple of months before you visit Milan, when tickets are affordable). Worth to visit the museum and any of the events organized there.

The theater is just amazing, but the view from my seat was absolutely terrible. It said distracted views, but I could literally only see 20 percent of the stage. Be careful what tickets to buy!!! It was also extremely hot in the little room. I actually left earlier.

I tried to see the auditorium in 2016 but they wouldn’t let me in due to a rehearsal. Today after booking a time slot I got to see it as they were testing lighting. So glad I returned to fulfil my dream. It’s stunning. The museum includes past production posters, costumes and former stars.

We recently visited Milan for a weekend away with friends and were able to see a concert at Scala. It was an amazing experience in what is perhaps the most famous opera house in the world. Unfortunately we had very high up seats which had a very obstructed view. This was advertised when booking but did make the experience a lot more difficult to enjoy as much as we would have potentially liked to. When booking I’d advise to make sure that the view won’t be too obstructed

I had terrible experience last night visiting performance. I have visited opera theaters in Vienna, NY, Saint Petersburg and this was by far worst. I didn’t only felt safe but extremely devalued as customer. Because I had to buy tickets short time in advance (I had tickets for earlier dates but it was forfeited due to change of travel dates) I was only able to purchase galleria seating. We were cramped into tiny seats with no space between groups with people standing over us in poorly vented space. We had to come in through some sort of emergency exit and taken to our seats by elevator so we didn’t even see the theater which is part of the whole experience. We left in intermission and wouldn’t able even to leave through main entrance. Very disappointed

Just saw a very impressive avant garde ballet/opera named Madina, la ragazza che non voleva morire. Very moving as it is inspired by a real story, that of a young lady from Chechnia forced to become a kamikaze.
Tickets need to be purchased way ahead of time as La Scala restricted the number of seats available because of the pandemia.
But, if this is a last mn purchase, be aware that some limited view in high balcony seats are available on the day of performance.
First, you need to create your own accountant on the Teatro della Scala site. Then, between 12 and 1pm on the day of performance, go to the ticket office and ask them where to queue up ( generally down the side street near the Stage Door. The guards in front are generally clueless, go in and ask at the desk).
It is the “L’ACCORDO” association who is responsible for these last mn tickets.
They will list your name if there are tickets available. Then you come back at 5.30 PM to pay (10 to 20eu a ticket, which is an incredible deal for a theatre that charges about 160eu for a regular ticket) and get your tickets.

Beautiful place, very disappointing experience.
I both my tickets from USA, anxious to visit this place. I arrived 5 minutes late and I was told that I had to wait for the break to not disturb the audience and then find my seat. I understood, but while I watched the concert standing up the lady that supposed to help me gave my seats in my presence to 2 young girls.
When the break came, she told the girls to give me my PAID seats back.
Giving my seats to someone else in my presence is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL.
Nov 22nd, seats 151,152 and 153. Second Galleria. Second row.

Yes, La Scala is beautiful, and we're glad we got to see an opera there (well, part of an opera). We went in mid September 2021, and the day had been warm, but not hot. We were excited to see what some say is the most beautiful opera house in the world, and we paid top dollar for prime box seats.

However, we immediately noticed that our box was warm, not just a little, but a lot. This was in spite of the fact that they only sold 2 of the normal 4 seats in the box due to Covid (though I wouldn't pay good money for the back 2 seats since visibility is very poor from their perspective). My husband removed his jacket and I wished I had worn a sleeveless dress. We tried to make the best of it, but it was so hot that we were literally starting to drip with sweat (and the required covid mask made it even worse). It was extremely stuffy and unpleasant, especially in such a confined area and while dressed for an opera. At one point, I thought my husband was going to pass out. Therefore, we left after the first act. Before leaving the theater, we stepped onto the orchestra level and noticed that it was also warm, but not as hot as the boxes. This was very disappointing for our long awaited and quite expensive visit to a "world class" opera house.

The facility is beautiful, but if you go during the warmer months, dress for summer, get orchestra seats, bring a fan, and be prepared to perspire.

We just saw The Marriage of Figaro at this beautiful theater and it was superb. The opera is obviously fantastic but the cast did it great justice. And this theater is truly one of the most beautiful we have ever seen! If you have the chance to see something here you should!
