Delightful backwater and well worth a detour

I have to agree with other reviewers of this wonderful place. It does get a mention in the places to visit and it seems off the usual tourist trail of the city, but if you have any interest in architecture or social history this has to be on your list. What is so unusual is the way you can actually... More

Milan is a big city filled with a crush of people - a visit to the Villa Necchi Campiglio is a refreshing refuge from all of that. You wait by the clear blue pool for your tour to begin, surrounded by greenery, art, and flowers. Visits are by guided tour only - and this is a very good thing. The... More

This is a treasure. You need to be escorted through the home by a guide. They have several tours in English scheduled during the day, so call ahead to see when. The tour takes about 55 minutes. It's so interesting to see this home, which was designed by one designer in the 30's, then occupied during the war years, and... More

20 minutes by walk from the centre. Excellent art deco building even from outside. Guided tour take you through the whole building showing many hidden details and pieces of art. Since tour takes more than one hour count with adequate time for the visit.

Found accidentally, yet it was the best accident I had during my short visit of Milan. The villa says simply: it is not the sophistication and technology of manufacturing the different elements and material used in that beautiful villa. It is actually the layout of functions, the tallying up of those functions; and the wonderful respect of the enclosure of... More

If you are interested in interior architecture this place is fantastic. The round trip was in italian so it was hard for me to understand everything. But it was not a problem because there is so much to see any way!

A hidden masterpiece of architecture and interior decoration from the early XX century (20's/30's). Worth a visit.

Amazing place. In the city center you arrive in this kind of time bubble, 30's heaven. You go inside the house and you can feel like the owners are just left. All the books, hood ornaments all over, the clothes inside the furnitures... Very modern despite the time passed. Go and enjoy!

Right in the centre of Milan, you can take some rest and visit this perfect example of modernism villa that has been built beginning of the XX century. You can sit in the garden, aside the swimming pool, have a light lunch at the restaurant and forget to be in a city...
