I drove over the bridge early evening in Autumn. Amazing views with all the history in front of you. Great Skyline and entry to this beautiful town

The skyline of Mantova is beautiful and well worth taking some time to admire. Its beautifully located on lake and on one side is a lovely park to walk around, while the other is the picturesque town which is well worth an explore. What's more the city is off the usual tourist circuit so it has a really lovely vibe.

Take a 5 minutes to have a look to the city from "campo canoa" parking.
... close your mouth please...
After that you can use free bus to meet the city center without getting crazy to find a place for your car.

Like many towns in Italy, Manua or Mantova has many old buildings with lots of history and some of those can be visited with or without a tour guide. Mantova is not very big and famous and therefore still accessible and affordable to visit. You can easily see Mantova in a day. Only if you enter some museums and/or take a boat trip you will need more time. A walk through the picturesque city center is a great way to spend half a day.

Mantua is situated on an island. It was surrounded in the middle ages by four dammed lakes. The water runs from Garda, and obviously from the Alps. Now, the number of lakes is three. People use the lake sides as recretional routes, we saw people running and jogging.

Approaching across the causeway between two lakes, the skline on Mantua offers a great hint of the delights in store for visitors. We were not disappointed.

Mantua (Mantova) isn’t a city often included in North Italy itineraries. We visited it on our way from Parma to Verona. Arriving from the north you’ll stumble on the city Skyline. Has great views from across the river of this little not so popular Italian gem.

Magnificent view when arriving by car from Ferrara.
We had mitigated weather and yet the scenery was just stunning.
Allas, Italian drivers are a pain in the neck and the places for foot goers scarce...so try your chance without loosing your life :-)
