The official lake transport is cheaper than the private concerns who will harrass you into one of their trips. Don't bother, you can get everywhere you would want to on the Navigazione and it's easy to buy tickets and a very smooth ride.

Nice to visit the islands with the smaller boats. The frequency is good. Next time i only would choose isla Bella. Isla pescatory was old and not that nice.

The best way to see the lakeside resorts, villas(especially Taranto) and Islands. Isola Bella, Isola Pescatori and Isola Madre all worth visiting as is Baveno.

This is a brilliant way for getting around the lake. The boats are frequent and mostly run to time, although they are sometimes quite crowded. The timetable is easy to understand.

Frequent and comfortable boats on Lake Maggiore run to accurate timetables. The Stresa to Locarno (Switzerland) journey takes just over 3 hours and allows a two hour visit to Locarno. Reasonably priced, very good lunch is available and there is also a bar so a...More

There is always the public one which are big boats stopping every 30 minutes. Those will be there anyway. The private ones are smaller and are there each one hour.

Hi! Yes I went in late April. Weather was gorgeous☀️sun shining, water was choppy but all was well! The best time to go, before heavy tourist season kicks in.
